The end to our livestreams?

Due to a new limit on bandwidth that Comcast will be putting into effect on the 1st of November, ShikuTeshi will no longer be able to stream for us. As the Game Nights have been the primary content on that channel, I'll be discontinuing it for the foreseeable future.

 

Our weekly Game Nights should however continue, as long as you guys keep taking part. =]

Does it really take a lot of GB's to stream on twitch?

Each streaming session takes up 30-50GB of data if I'm streaming at the recommended 3.5mb for Twitch for about 3 hours, which is our average game night length.

Doesn't sound like an issue with a 1TB data cap, but take in a bunch of other factors and I can't stream anymore. Not to my own or the OC channel.

30-50GB?  Woah.  I didn't think it would be that much.  Not like Comcast couldn't handle it though.  Why are ISPs so douchey?

I think the math is crooked.   3.5mbps *60sec*60min =12,600Mbits/8 = 1,575MBytes

 

that's about 4.7GB for for 3 hours.  Did I miss something?

Yeah, 3500 kbps converted to per 3 hours is 37.8 Gb, or 4.725 GB, meaning you'd need over 26 days of constant streaming to fill up all of 1 TB. However, he also said:

As far as I know, none that are free enough to maintain the schedule and have the resources to acquire the games we play, if they dont already have them.

 

Open to offers on it, though.
