Bungee jumping

Have you ever been Bungee jumping? What was it like for you and were you scared?

I've never been Bungee jumping, but if I can get the courage, I would probably do it. :P

Tiddy-bits:

I wouldn't want to go Bungee jumping because I'm scared of heights. But ironically I really want to try wing-suit gliding.

I went a while back in 2009 in NZ. Did it twice, once as a jump from Kawarau bridge and once as a swing from The Ledge. I was 12 at the time, so the entire experience was pretty terrifying for me, especially as I did the swing first. On the swing, you had to lower yourself out from the overhang onto the rope and then pull the latch that released you from the holding rope. I remember not being able to pull it, tearing up from apprehension. Took me three tries to finally get the rope free and swing. Afterwards, my immediate thought was "holy shit, can I do that again?".

The actual jump itself from the bridge was somewhat easier because I trusted the instructors more, and knew that I could do it without (irrational) fear of the rope snapping, or something. Turns out I shouldn't have trusted them, because he didn't allow me to jump myself. He said that he would count to five and then push me, but he only reached three before shoving me off. Bastard.

Overall, absolute fantastic fun. Very happy I did it, even though I was absolutely shitting myself before hand. Certainly took me out of my comfort zone.

EDIT: I should also mention it was a school trip, and that I didn't mention the jumps to my mother until after I got back. She was so incredibly angry, but also kind of amused. Kind of like a "I hate you so much for scaring me but I'm proud of you for doing it" territory.
