Skyrim Sound Issue

For some unknown reason, Skyrim is quiet. I had the same issue with Dirt 3 not so long back, but i managed to fix that by editting Rapture3d or something like that, settings. I've checked multiple forums for a solution and none have worked.

And yes, my sound is on high.

E: Ok, after format, i still have the same issue... But i found a forum that said about editing the audio numbers in SkyrimPref config file. It improved, but i still need it to be about 20-25% higher.

Are you using onboard sound or do you have a dedicated card? Also, the maker and model for both would be cool too.
