Why Gas is so Expensive

Tiddy-bits:

It's incredible how many people know literally nothing about where their fuel comes from.

I've been explaining this to people for a long time and I found a way to sum it up in one line for people who won't do the same research I did: "Oil is a global commodity whose prices are influenced largely by its futures trade and OPEC price fixing".

That's what I say to anyone who brings up a pipeline. If they ask follow up questions then you go into the deets

But why is food so expensive now, too? If available at all (looking at you, empty shelf of sunflower oil                                                       ).
Surely nourishment hasn't fallen out of style! :v

Russia and Ukraine are large producers of Sunflower Oil.

Try rapeseed or vegetable oil.

It's only going to get worse because Russia exports a lot of fertilizer.
