Chimera Questions & Suggestions

Maybe give the latest Chimera build a try?

Chimera's no longer in alpha, but it never has been truly "stable" in terms of feature completeness.

Tiddy-bits:

Hello, first of all, thanks for your amazing work.

I installed Chimera over Custom Edition (patched) with Refined maps, the french version.

The game runs normally, but when I try to set the fov using "chimera fov 60" (for example) it says : "Too many arguments were specified. Expected at most 1".

I tried the "chimera widescreen fix" command, same problem. I tried replacing the spaces with underscores but to no avail...

I'm sorry if this is a dumb problem, but I'm kind of a noob in the modding department...

Edit : Find out, sorry for the post.

The syntax is "chimera_fov 60" and "chimera_widescreen_fix 1". You put the underscores in the command name and you put spaces between arguments.

Thanks for the great work. Loved everything about the new version, except I could not change brightness/gamma from in Halo CE menu.

Was that intended, or is there another way to change brightness/gamma in chimera? Thanks.

I've been looking into that.

It's part of Chimera disabling Halo CE writing to the registry. Unfortunately, it writes the gamma values into the registry, too.

Hello, I did a speed test for my internet and it's running fine, however when maps get downloaded from the repo it takes forever to download them. Why is that? Someone please help me! Thanks very much!

Chimera downloads maps from the HAC2/HaloNet maps repository. The bandwidth bottleneck may be on the server's end, but I do not know for sure.

Found out the reason, see bottom of post.

Does Chimera cache the controls folder? I made some updates to a plugin I placed in there and whenever I run Halo with the Chimera strings.dll, it loads the stale version of that plugin that first loaded with the new version of Chimera.

Even when I delete my plugin from the controls folder, the plugin still loads :spooky:.

Using vanilla Strings.dll fixes this behaviour; the new version of the plugin is used or, if deleted, it is never loaded at all.

I understand my plugin is not likely to be compatible with Chimera, but I have been making a number of edits to my plugin to attempt compatibility.

EDIT

Nevermind, found out I still had the mods folder present with a stale copy.
