Posted May 19, 2017 Why are customers being called clients these days? I feel there is a distinct difference between a client and a customer dependant on the business they are attending other than that they are the same people. What are your thoughts? https://www.twitch.tv/krazychic
Posted May 19, 2017 Probably because 'client' sounds more formal. It's all semantics anyway. xvii likes this Our Revival Forums

Ive seen the use of client, guest, customer, consumer, shopper, buyer, patron etc. Its all the same, it is just the business trying to one up or be different than the other business by being more personable towards the person with the money, with the common goal of separating that person with as much of their money as possible. Posted May 19, 2017 My post is derived from a status update on FB from a friend. She works in a Lawn Mower Sales/Repair shop and refers to the 'customers' as 'clients'. I find this incorrect. I feel the label client is reserved for a specialist field like psychology but then one would be considered a 'patient' would they not? https://www.twitch.tv/krazychic
Posted May 19, 2017 The term seems to be used very freely over here to cover anyone receiving any sort of service. What cracks me the hell up is that the term is used in New York state to describe Welfare and Food Stamp recipients as if to confer upon them an air of dignity of some sort. Posted May 19, 2017 'People with a tendency to financial acquisition' would be the political correct term. Takka likes this IIII
Posted November 1, 2017 I'd argue that there is a difference between a customer and a client. Clients to me are people who continuously use the service of someone, whereas a customer is someone who conducted a transaction. A masseuse has clients. Walmart has customers.
