Halo 3 PC Game Night?

Anybody want to play some classic Halo 3 customs on ElDewrito (Halo Online mod) tonight after I get off work at 9pm central time?

It's only a couple gigs to download and super easy to install. I have ports forwarded to host private matches already. ElDewrito has a great built in VoIP as well.

Check it out! It's definitely worth installing and enough people play it that you can almost always find multiple matches during the day hosted in America. It's a 4 step install guide. I didn't realize just how much Halo 3 content was still in it. It's basically Halo 3 PC.

Tried it out for an hour. It felt... weird. The game plays a bit awkwardly. I think I'll opt out because I have a slight headache after that session.

I've already gone through the process of downloading, installing, playing, and then uninstalling. Whole process took about an hour for me. It's like a retarded frankensteins monster.

 

Oh and the reticle being down about 2/3 of the screen bugs me. Shit should at least be centered. IDGAF how H2/3/4 did it, reticle = center screen, period, always.

Eldewrito has a fix for that in the launcher's configuration.

hoping that refers to Saber and not the Dewrito devs, because they had no part in that and are actually re-adding the Halo 3 armour relatively soon.

If you're hosting old Halo 3 customs I remade Bull Pen, albeit the map is a bit small due to the part budget and lack of proper space.

Eldewrito contains a fix for this and furthermore there's a view model fixer that moves them back down once you move the reticle up.

I'm not sure what could have prompted you to Uninstall it so fast but I recommend trying the most recent update.

Once again, this is NOT just a Halo Online that works in America. ElDewrito is striving to be as close to H3 as possible without removing useful features, instead allowing toggle on things like sprint.

Any of you may have also played with a crappy host. On Halo 3 maps with a good host it plays extremely similarly to the console version, imo. Stuff only gets really weird when high pingers host. Some people may have more luck with a controller (it really does seem more fitting in some ways)

Once again, I definitely recommend trying the most recent patch (another is apparently coming soon that will include some audio fixes with lots of players on map). You have to really see it for the potential it could have as well. I'm pretty excited about it just because somebody in the Halo community is doing something and I think that should be supported. Also, it's basically H3.
