Also, for when you get to the prison part, the show will stagnate and get boring as fuck for at least a season, but don't give up. It recovers itself and gets really fun again afterwards.

I've watched at least one episode from each season. It's just so drawn out, I felt like everything took 20 minutes to happen.

It's really just a play on humanity at its worst, with varying circumstances. Zombies are always just in the background rather than a focal point; more of just an excuse for society to have ended.

It's still just boring to me. I've tried multiple times to get into the show and it just didn't work out for me. I prefer medical dramas or something like that. xD
