Killing Floor 2 - Config Edits (More Corpses, Disable Mouse Acelleration, ADS Sensitivity Fix, Etc)

Okay, since there's no way to change these values in-game yet (as of beta), here's a few tweaks you can do to your config files to increase the max number of ragdolls allowed on the ground, disable mouse smoothing/accel and set your aim-down-sight sensitivity to be equal (1:1) to your hip-fire sensitivity.

 

All config files are located in "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config"

 

 

 

 

 

Increase Ragdoll Count/Gore Settings

I take no responsibility for what this does to your framerate, but in general it runs very well even with increased corpse count.

 

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

 

2. Open the file "KFGame.ini" in Notepad.

 

3. Hit Ctrl+F and type "KFGoreManager" and it should take you to a segment that looks similar to this (mine is edited already)

3. Change the segment highlighted in red (MaxDeadBodies) to the desired body count. (You can alter some of the other settings as well but I can't make any promises about how it will come out.)

4. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes and need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties(but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!).

Disable Ragdolls/Gore On Dead Bodies

This fix will disable ragdolls and gore entirely on dead Zeds after they have been untouched for 5 or so seconds. Using this fix may potentially increase your frames per second if you are using weaker hardware or want to run the game with a modified MaxDeadBodies limit.

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

2. Open the file named "KFGame.ini" in Notepad

3. Use ctrl+f or browse for the line labeled "bAllowRagdollAndGoreOnDeadBodies=" and set it to "False"

4. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes or by opening/modifying the video settings in-game and it will need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties (but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!). 

Disable Mouse Smoothing/Accel

This fix will disable nasty mouse accel that causes your aim to go further based on how quickly you move the mouse. This is bad because it ruins muscle memory and can lead to much less precision because your mouse no longer has absolute 1:1 control when moving quickly.

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

2. Open the file named "KFInput.ini" in Notepad

3. Use ctrl+f or browse for the line labeled "bEnableMouseSmoothing=" and set it to "false"

4. Use ctrl+f to search for "bViewAccelerationEnabled" and change its value to "false"

 

5. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes or by opening/modifying the sensitivity settings in-game and it will need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties (but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!).

Uneven Horizontal/Vertical Look Speed Ratio Fix

Recommended by JigglyWiggly_ on Reddit.

By default, the game has a slightly higher sensitivity when aiming left to right than aiming up or down. This fix will make the looking speed in all directions equal.

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

2. Open the file named "KFInput.ini" in Notepad

3. Use ctrl+f or browse for the line labeled "LookRightScale" (it should be right at the top of the file) and set both lines labeled "LookRightScale" and "LookUpScale" to 0.

4. There is another instance of these variable located lower in the file as well. Press ctrl+f and search for "LookRightScale" again and change both "LookRightScale" and "LookUpScale" to 0 in this new location.

4. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes or by opening/modifying the sensitivity settings in-game and it will need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties (but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!).

Fix Slow Aim Down Sight Sensitivity Ratio

This fix will make your sensitivity when aiming down sight equal to that of hip fire. You can also set this value to any number below 1 if you like your ADS being slower than hip fire but the current setting is too slow for you. 0.50 will be 50% of normal sensitivity.

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

2. Open the file named "KFInput.ini" in Notepad

3. Use ctrl+f or browse for the line labeled "ZoomedSensitivityScalar=" and set it to "1" or any number from 0 to 1 e.g. 0.5

4. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes or by opening/modifying the sensitivity settings in-game and it will need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties (but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!).  

Disable Auto Aim When Using a Controller

Don't like having the game manipulate your aim to "assist" you? Change this setting to disable extra auto aim when using a controller.

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

2. Open the file named "KFGame.ini" in Notepad

3. Use ctrl+f or browse for the line labeled "[KFGame.KFPlayerController]" and change bTargetAdhesionEnabled= as well as bAutoTargetEnabled= to "False"

4. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes or by opening/modifying the sensitivity settings in-game and it will need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties (but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!).

Disable Start-Up Credits Videos

Suggested by terrordrone_nl on Reddit.

Disabling this will take you straight to the main menu when you launch the game. No more having to click three times past the small videos.

1. Browse to your "C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\Config" folder.

2. Open the file named "KFEngine.ini" in Notepad

3. Use ctrl+f or browse for the line labeled "bForceNoMovies=" and change it to "True"

4. Make sure to save the file and reboot your game afterward. The file may be reset during Early Access changes and will need to be modified again. Either that, or you can simply make the file read-only in its properties (but the file will not update when the game patches which could be bad!).

It's not the longer you move the mouse, it's how fast you accelerate with it. The faster you fling the mouse to a spot on your desk, the further it goes on screen. Moving the mouse slowly would cause the camera to rotate slowly as well, making sensitivity dependent on how quick you move the mouse to a spot on your desk instead of just the position of the spot itself.

Ah I gotcha. I prefer a higher ratio than 1:1 for sure (hate moving my hand so much) but I do find what you're describing annoying.

My mouse moves more than an actual physical 1:1 and I'm okay with that. I just don't want my sensitivity to be variable for any reason. When I move my mouse to the spot I feel like will be on the enemy's head based on muscle memory, I don't need acceleration deciding that because "You moved your mouse real fast" I'm now aiming 3 feet past their head.

The good thing with this is that you can also set it down to lets say 1.

So if you have a potato like me you can easily reduce corpses and get some sweet FPS out of it.

Lets hope this will also allow us to uncensor the game like we could in kf1

You can uncensor the game already. its a simple INI file fix Dont remember in which file its located. But its definatly there!
