Was pointing out that, from the user's end, there's nothing being sacrificed so saying it's not worth it is silly. It might not be for the company but the end user experience isn't really negatively impacted.

 

Clearly I was talking about it being worth it for the ISP.

indeed. That's what I was referencing in my first post. You can get patents for anything in the US.
