Tiddy-bits:

Vista's mainstream support already ended in 2012 and completely drops support in 2017. I know that's a long time but still - Windows 7/8 are so much better.

On top of that, Vista is an atrocious resource hog compared to any other Windows OS.

Oddly, this is familiar to you... as if from an old dream.

If you have a fast enough computer, Vista and XP are indistinguishable performance wise, from my experience.

If you have a fast enough computer, anything can be indistinguishable performance wise. You're comparing apples and rocket powered apples.

Apple has already reported that the reports of people bending their phone were over exaggerated (i.e, 9 people complained to them.); nothing new here..

002: last I recall you barely even used a phone so maybe your opinion is a little biased, and you probably wouldn't want any smart phone either.

But you are thinking of it as just a phone.. I think of it as a good portable computer that fits in my pocket, and with a good app ecosystem to boot.

Except I'm not talking about ridiculous power. My computer was 2.33 ghz quad with 8gb ram. Edited by TCK

Except I didn't mean anything about a computer with ridiculous power. I meant that the problems occurred if you didn't have such a fast computer (i.e. an average low-end Windows XP computer). Sure, if you get a faster computer and you won't suffer from slowness like everyone else. Windows Vista is still a resource hog; you just have more resources for it to "hog".

I don't know why you're arguing with me then. You're saying the problems occur on lower end computers. I said the problems aren't noticeable on upper-mid end computers. How are we contradicting each other?

I have no idea if I'll still be gaming come 2017, I'm not going to invest in another Win OS, even if the support is "stellar", not when I can for the short term, play the few games I do. Everything else and I do mean EVERYTHING else I do on Linux, even radio programming and the other non-sense I mess with. I actually have a harder time using Win these days.
