I hate Skype

I want it to die so badly. Please, can we all just move to a better-maintained system? Holy shit. The list of bugs and complete-broken states I've run into is immense, but this one takes the cake. It will send messages, but not receive them (and then not tell me about it). I'm using a Trillian shell, but that doesn't affect anything negatively as Skypekit.exe is the same either way.

Or... I'm just a horrible person to talk to?

Yeah it's not Trillian, as Trillian just executes Skypekit.exe which is the exact same thing normal Skype uses. Most people can have a 100% fine Skype experience, but when shit happens it happens hard.

I stopped using Skype over a year ago. I've luckily managed to get everyone that cares about talking to me to switch to Steam and Teamspeak.

Uh, Skype/Microsoft no longer supports skypekit; I wouldn't be so sure about that.

I've been trying to get my group to switch to something else for awhile now. But they're to stubborn, even with all the issues we've been having with skype. We've used Razer Comms and I really love it, but they're still not moving away from a program they know is complete shit.

The group of people I play games with just simply don't like Skype. They only used it because it was better than TinyChat and Mumble. When I put a Teamspeak server up they jumped at the chance.

 

I think a good way to make your guys switch would be to point out the benefits of playing games with an application that doesn't log all of your sessions.
