Any stock map (bloodgulch, carousel, etc.) minus the .map. The filename should also match the name you put in there (with the .map; bloodgulch.map, carousel.map, etc.). Make sure the file is the same exact size as it was before you renamed it. If it's not, you'll need to add or remove null bytes (00's) after the map name.

He means that when using a hex editor to replace text, you have to make sure the empty space is null bytes. For example, pretend the dashes are null bytes:

Overwriting a short name means you're all good.

short-----------
bloodgulch------

Overwriting a long name means there are extra characters

loooooooooong---
bloodgulchong---

Put null bytes over those characters and you're set.

bloodgulch------

so...just use the "dash" as a nullifier in the hex editor? after the name? to shorten it...tried this and the map didn't load??

OK.. Thanks... You wouldn't happen to know map size of BG for Mac would you? If not, I can all around. No worries

Same size as the one on Windows. The maps are the same between versions.

And this is what I mean:

Screen%20Shot%202014-11-10%20at%2012.33.

Then make sure the file name is bloodgulch.map.
