What headphones do you have? I'm asking this because I'm looking to buy new over the ear within the $100-$150 range, and I'm leaning very strongly on the Sennheiser HD 558's with their awesome soundstage and fairly neutral sound.

I was gonna go with the ATH-M50S, but the bass is there, and I'm not a bass head. Well, I am, but I like a more neutral sound that plays bass where it's meant to be played.

As for my other phones.

1 x Klipsch S4A II

1 x Sennheiser IE 60

1 x Sennheiser HD 429 (what I'll be replacing)

I have an expensive pair of in-ear because that's what I user for the gym, etc. They're my primary ones.

I just need some that I can use to relax at home with.

Tiddy-bits:

I've been using Sennheiser HD 518s for two years now I think, maybe just one.  Not sure.  Either way, I would happily recommend them, although I would say it's certainly worth the extra money to get the next level up for the higher quality pads.  I can wear my 518s for hours and it doesn't make your head or ears hot, but still, it would be nice if the pads were a bit softer.  At the same time, they make great earmuffs in the winter!  Due to the open back design, you can still hear people perfectly fine if you aren't listening to anything.

They also have proven themselves to be rather durable.

$30 Sony ZX Series: Neodymium Studio Monitors. They're red, and the only/first pair of headphones I've ever bought.

You are so good! I end up ruining my earphones and go through a set in a year or less... my record was 3 weeks =\

However my current pair, Sony MDR-EX38iP have lasted a year (bought for $20 manufacturer refurbished). The sound quality is decent but I like the convenience of an in-line mic with volume control so you can multitask on the go.

Just got my Sennheiser HD 558s, so fucking comfy. Velour pads oh god. I can't feel it on my head. So sexy. Neutral sound, no crazy bass, but even sounds good even with dub step because the bass is there where it needs to be.
