My neue build

17 posts in this topic

I'm thinking of building this, the following parts are the ones I'm paying more attention to (the coolers are not that important though).

Let me know your opinion about this build, if you would replace any of these parts and why...etc etc etc

I'll be playing MMORPG and FPS with this. Don't need to have the highest fps of the world, just want the games to be playable and not need to upgrade anything soon.

I'm using this monitor, apparently it's only available in my country.

You can guess what the specifications are by the units or the number format :P

Tiddy-bits:

I'm not to thrilled about the case and the LED fans, but you can get a fractal design for way cheaper, plus better airflow.

Don't use a 10$ cooler on a 200$ cpu. AM3+ socket http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/arctic-cooling-cpu-cooler-freezer7prorev2.

As for storage I would prefer a SSD to use with the OS and a few games on it (propably a 120GB or a 180gb tostay on budget)  and as secondary for file storage a 1 TB HDD.

A 270X GPU would be better its newer and faster than 7870 (a refresh of 7870) http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr927xoc2gd.

M/B is OK but consider a full ATX.

Mea culpa. Still the cheap cooler is as good as stock cooler from amd. (no heatpipes)

brother has the phantom and he hates it.

read some reviews saying it had good air flow

the awesome whitey looks convinced me and i didn't ask for anything else

I'd try one with a better airflow, do you have any particular model in mind?

Solid build. I would go Intel myself tho.

Also i would suggest using the nzxt source tho. I'm doing a build with that case right now and its fantastic. Great cable management and airflow. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CN-jkL2XibsCFcQ9QgodHU4AfQ&Item=N82E16811146077&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Computer+Cases-_-N82E16811146077&ef_id=Un4KggAAATe@SZA@:20131129044310:s

Half the price. Check the asus corsair thread if you want to see it.
