New Computer

16 posts in this topic

Hey guys I am building my own computer and I would like some help. I've already had a friend help me with parts, but I'm just wondering if these things are the best. I'm trying to aim for about $1,000. I'm going to be playing games like Skyrim, LFD2, Payday, Dota 2, Call of Duty, and Arma 2. Here is the list of parts.

Change the ram (2x4gb dual channel kit), the graphics card (hd 7870) and for the love of god, get windows 7. Also, the HAF 912 Plus is nicer than the HAF 912.

Change the ram (2x4gb dual channel kit)

This... and go for at least 1600MHz. Getting 1333MHz RAM was one of my worst mistakes building my PC back when I had no knowledge of PC building.

Is there really much of a difference between 1333 and 1600? It shouldn't take much effort to OC to 1600. My 1600 ram had no trouble going up to 1800
