    But son, they made sure it's always 60FPS!
    It may look like shit, but it's rendering that shit-looking thing 60 times in a second. Isn't that worth a trade off in quality?
    Me personally, I'd settle for Super-FX level graphics, so long as it's at 60FPS. That's obviously the primary concern here.

    I've come to the realization that I've nearly grown out of Video Games. I won't be getting another console for certain, so I won't ever have a reaction to H5.
    Oh, except for of course my "They got rid of local multiplayer, what the actual shit is that?"
    Yeah, that's my reaction then, fuck this game and fuck 343/Microsoft for being so transparently fucking greedy. Hitler himself was more subtle in "Mein Kampf", at least he could come up with a half-assed excuse instead of "Oh, the resolution adjusts to make the framerate consistent."
    What the fuck does that have to do with LAN? But I digress, yeah too old for this shit. I got to see the prime of Video Games, everything from here out is just a dirty cash-grab and I'm good on that.

    Instead of sleeping last night, I spent 6 hours running through sales documents and devising a 'plan-o-gram' for my Hotel's Lobby Market. We have some issues keeping stocked with inventory and keeping the display organized, I hope to help those issues with this;

    That's the Hotel's highest selling/most profitable items, in the best arrangement I could come up with. Healthier options are higher where an adult's line of sight is, whereas the more junk-food items are lower on par with a child's line of sight.
    My staple items (Lays/Fritos/Cheetos) are going to sell no matter where I place them, if somebody purchases those it's because that's what they wanted in the first place, nobody debates over items and then goes with Potato chips. I keep those high up and out of the way so other items can take front stage.
    Saltier Items take up the Left half of the Display, Sweet items are on the right half.
    The left half's packaging is also warmer in tone, whereas the right is cooler (red vs blue). Helps slowly guide the eye over products, as opposed to a hodgepodge of colors that have you looking from one bag to the next without actually looking at them.
    Now I just gotta print out a few copies, wrap together a little spiel for why this should be implemented and present it to management tomorrow...well, actually, today. 8 hours from now.
    And at some point I should probably fit some sleep in.

    We don't expect people to show if they can't or don't feel like it. We will be hosting another, which will be posted by Iggy soon, and the same goes for that, if you show you do if you don't that's fine.
    We will be trying to make a weekly event just to encourage players to make for a better game. It's what we like to do, we enjoy it but the more the merrier.
    Ohh and you did a great thing staying back at work, it shows dedication and interest in your work.

    Sapien should be used.
    Tool's are slightly lower quality/prone to bad UV's. It also doesn't calculate radiosity from lights attached to objects IIRC.
    Aether is King of course.

    Just now realized that H5 has no offline multiplayer at all. No Split-Screen, No Co-Op Campaign, and no LAN play.
    So the ONLY way to play MP is by buying Xbox Live, paying the monthly subscription and having access to an internet connection.
    Because let's be honest, none of us have ever had a Halo LAN party right? Who wants those?
    They've got kids these days by the balls man. Pay 60 bucks for a game, pay 60 a year to play online, and then pay for every little bonus item they can imagine giving you.
    Remember when you unlocked secret characters by beating the game on Hard?
    The Master Chief isn't dead, Video Games are. All that's left is worthless mainstream shit, like getting your music off the radio.

    If somebody wants to play these over a LAN or on their own servers, what are they to do then?

    All you people are awful because Halo 3 was trash and Halo Reach was the pinnacle of the series.
    That said, I don't play multiplayer because fuck all you 12 year olds. Get a job and see how much better you are then.
    Halo Reach's campaign was a masterpiece, only game I've ever played where I felt real emotions. I fought my ass off to save Reach, knowing the whole time there was nothing I could do to change the story.
    And then the ending, oh god that ending. Incredible.

    Yeah I imagine it would need collision model data to determine when it's "bounced" for the first time.
    It could have used the center-coordinate and determine when it's intersected the BSP, since it already does that to determine the projectile direction/velocity on a bounce, but yeah, makes sense considering this is Halo we're talking about.
  17. NeX liked a post in a topic by DeadHamster in Advice on accurate night maps
    Also Halo 1 is absolutely horrid at rendering dark areas. The bitmaps on the BSP lose detail and looks like trash.
    IF you wanted it darker however...
    Go to the top of the sky tag. In that area there are some values called the following;
    Indoor Ambient Radiosity (Color/Power)
    Outdoor Ambient Radiosity (Color/Power)
    These are basically "flat values" that give a minimum lighting level, so that a corner doesn't go completely black because no light bounces into it. If you make those go lower, you'll see the difference there.
    Those "flat values" go across the whole BSP, and then the light sources add more to wherever the light hits.

    Since you mentioned CE is okay....
    Extract your map into the tags Folder using HEK+
    Open your .Sky tag using Guerilla/Kornman00, and browse to the section near the bottom labelled "Lights". radiosity color/power is mentioned. Change the color to a darkish purple/blue, and cut the power down by half to start.
    If you look in your other topic here, I explain how to reposition the sun;
    http://opencarnage.net/index.php?/topic/5398-moving-the-sun/
    Open your scenario tag using Sapien.
    Hit the ~ button and enter the following commands;

    radiosity_quality 0 radiosity_start Wait several minutes for Sapien to compile the lightmaps. It must be the active window during this time. Once all three values have made their way to 0, type the following command after hitting the ~ key;
    radiosity_save Make any changes after that point and recompile until you're satisfied with the strength and color.

    You should be able to adjust it's position. It's a value that can be edited, it's not something that's compiled.
    Look in the sky tag of course, for a section named "Lights"
    In that section, the direction values need to be changed. One of them "Y?" is height, the other "p?" is rotation. You set the two and it should change, as Tucker said however it won't change lightmaps.
    Look at your other topic here for editing lightmaps;

    Wanna rip me some animations from H2?
    ZTeam are the only ones who have or can still to this day. Xbox H2 at least, not sure about H2V
    It's more tags than programs now, but for a bit there were some apps you couldn't have unless you knew the guy. A lot was for "legality" purposes, like being able to edit Trial maps (and add content that wasn't in the Trial version), or ripping content from newer games or whathaveyou.

    Ah. Bloodgulch on Halo Trial.

    I remember on Trial way back in the day you couldn't rebuild with HMT, so....Phenomena? Yeah it was phen.....he released a map that had almost everything from Cartographer prebuilt into a trial version Bloodgulch.

    There was the Trial HMT out there that Phen made his map with, but you couldn't find a link.  Back then the hardest part of modding was finding someone willing to share the tools. It's still that way today, one of the main reasons the community's died so spectacularly. Everyone's an arrogant dick.

    But I digress; This is pretty sweet. Trainer sounds legit, swapping gametypes is cool, and having it all centralized is helpful. Anyone looking to download and play through an old relic will have found a good collection to start with.

    Yeah. Bloodgulch on Halo Trial.

    I do miss it.

    So I've had my Steam account stolen recently, which I did not notice because I don't use Steam because fuck Steam.

    I contacted Support July 25 to help rectify this issue. This thread is for posterity, to document just how terrible Steam Support is.

    1 Message by you on Sat, Jul 25 2015 12:54 My account <redacted> has been stolen and I am unable to access. They have changed the email as well so I cannot reset the password as I had before.

    I can say the original email is almost certainly <redacted>, if I am not mistaken.

    I was recently gifted <redacted> from a <redacted>, but I've never added a credit card so I'm unable to provide further verification other than that.

    I've been confused because I apparently have an alternate account as well, it's made me wonder how many I may have total. The sooner I can be contacted back about this the better it would be, I appreciate your time and hope to hear from you soon.   Next Step: If your Steam account has been hijacked, your computer's security is likely compromised as well.

    Please reply to this ticket after completing these steps to confirm that your computer is secured and free of malware:

    1) Scan your computer for viruses, key loggers, spyware, and other malicious code with a virus scan utility that has the most recent virus definitions.

    2) Change your SteamPowered.com Support Account password and the password for the e-mail account you are using to contact Support. If you no longer have access to the email that is associated with your account, please reply with your new email address.

    Finally, please make sure you have provided adequate information and proof of ownership:

I know you guys just had an exploit on the site which made it unfathomably easy to steal accounts, and that you're probably overloaded with these similar requests, but any info would be awesome please and thank you.     4 Message by you on Thu, Aug 13 2015 0:02Still awaiting any kind of contact from "Support". I find it highly absurd it's been nearly 3 weeks and I haven't gotten any reply save for an automated response.     5 Message by you on Sun, Aug 16 2015 19:37Hijacked Account

    I attempted to contact Steam Support regarding a stolen account several weeks ago but was never contacted back. The initial ticket was filed July 25th.

    The ticket I'm referring to is <redacted>

    The Account that was stolen due was <redacted>. The original e-mail was most likely <redacted>. I was recently gifted <redacted> from an account named <redacted>, but have never attached a credit card to the account. This is apparently an excellent application of foresight on my part, because if I had given your company a credit card the person who stole my account could almost certainly have purchased and downloaded your entire library in the time it takes your support staff to reply to a ticket.

    I find it absolutely unacceptable that it's taken this amount of time to fix the issue, and completely absurd that in that timeframe I've not so much as heard a single reply from anybody in the company. Since the initial support claim was filed, I've responded several times to the existing ticket but have received no response or contact from anybody at Steam Support. For that reason I've decided to file a new Ticket, daily, until I've received a response

    The site automatically combined tickets, so I had to file a ticket under another type of error (Account/Password Reset) to be certain a new ticket would be created.

    1 Message by you on Sun, Aug 16 2015 19:53I've filed a support ticket number <redacted> on July 25th, since then I've received no response.

    On attempting to file a new ticket, I was shown that both tickets were combined into a single ticket under the initial number. Beings that nobody has responded to the old ticket in over 3 weeks now, I was greatly annoyed by that.

    For that reason, I've filed another complaint under a different subject and issue so that somebody will hopefully see this and actually respond, although I'm beginning to believe "Steam Support" doesn't actually exist and is just a form that goes nowhere to make your customers feel like they're being helped. Similar to how the "Close Door" button on an elevator doesn't actually do anything, it's just there so you can pretend you care about your customers.

    If you do work in Steam's mythical "Support" team, and do actually read this, I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide. I'll be filing a new ticket each day under a random issue until I get a response, I'm sure you guys will be as happy with my decisions as I am with yours.

    I've added an attachment to this ticket; it's a picture of an enraged elephant in the process of attacking a vehicle, which I guess to be a Subaru. This is to help you in visualizing my frustration with your company. In this visualization, the Subaru represents Steam, and I myself am represented my the Angry Elephant; Enraged and attempting desperately to get in, but being unable to by any means.   hqdefault[1].jpg - View Image (File Size : 15.1 KB) Next Step: To recover an account without the assistance of Steam Support, please follow the instructions provided here:https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4988-DHXV-7272
