Sounds like fun, One day i would love to do something like this with a partner or even just a very close friend (lacking in both currently). If you need help with designing stuff or anything like that give me a holla.

DUH. Haha, I'll share everything with you guys.
I'll be purchasing the domain soon, and slowly designing a website/blog. BTW, I need help running it and maybe uploading and editing videos. If anyone has experience with that and would love to help, please do. If it ever becomes profitable via ads or sponsorships, I'll be sure to pay if I can obviously.

I'm going to go around the world. I'm saving $16,000 to do it. I'm only going to try and use $10K though, and even make some money doing it. I will document my experiences and start a youtube about hitchhiking around the planet. Yeah I know it's dangerous, you're not going to convince me of something I don't already know. I already planned the route out and I'm ready to depart in early 2015. I already have the camera, backpack, tent, and other supplies ready to go, and also $7,000/$16,000 ready to go. I will be making this trip, and it's going to be amazing.
I will be hitchhiking down through mexico and flying out of Buenos Aires, Argentina into South Africa to hitchhike up from there.
The total I will spend of flights will be $3, 000, and even that I hope to make on the road by helping farmers or putting my bar-tending license into practice.
Experience? I have already hitchhiked across Australia before on $50. I can also speak Spanish, Russian, Polish, French, and English so that gives me a bit of versatility as far as communication goes.
Just wanted to share with you guys!

OpenEmu is an awesome concept. Basically, it allows you to simply drag and drop a ROM for a classic video game and it just works. That's the beauty of it. It's so simple, and the interface looks really nice.
It works by being powered by the official emulators that originally emulated the respective console IE: Visual Boy Advance for Game Boy Advance. It calls these "cores" and you can build a core yourself by compiling the source around the OpenEmu frame.
Consoles that are emulated almost perfectly: Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, NeoGeo Pocket Color, NES/Famicon, SNES, Nintendo DS, Sega 32X, Sega Game Gear, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Sega Master System, TurboGrafx, and Virtual Boy.
There are more coming, they are included in the experimental build and work OK for the most part. These are: PSP, N64, Playstation, and more. The N64 one has some graphical issues that will be fixed with a good port of Glide64 I think.

Luke liked a post in a topic by pong in Movie Review - 47 Ronin
This movie was so bad. It was horrendous. The original cut had the Japanese guy as the main focus, instead, hollywood execs decided to make Keanu the lead. It was a sick and disgusting rape of the genre. EW.
2.5/10
The fights were pretty cool. Don't go there for a good story.
Just to clarify, I have nothing negative to say about your review. The movie was just terrible for almost every other reason.

@nil
There's the open source N64 emulator called mupen64plus, it's command line, but it's what's currently powering the N64 part. Currently, Mupen uses a shittier older video plugin as the default. The video plugin needs to be updated to Glide64 Final, and I'm more or less trying to figure this out myself.
PSP works well. I only played Final Fantasy Crisis Core, but it works well. Playstation works fine, just a few minor glitches.

Vuthakral liked a post in a topic by pong in Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD
I just bought the Samsung Evo SSD in the 1TB capacity to replace my HD in my laptop. I don't usually like to boast, but damn is this thing better than what you have in your laptop. It is insanely quick. Plus, it wasn't too expensive. I paid $450 for the 1TB, and that allows me to download movies, music, etc to keep on my HD without worrying about an external or a second drive. It's awesome.
I think you can pick thsese things up for about $530 with free shipping on Amazon or wherever. They are fantastic drives that really are fast.
I did a few benchmarks and I had write speeds of about 510MB/s and read of about 415MB/s. It's pretty fucking awesome if you ask me.
BUY ONE if you have the money.
They thing is, even if I get a new laptop, this will definitely be going inside and be amazing.

Kvasir liked a post in a topic by pong in Philosophy Courses
I'm probably biased, but I had a Philosophy of Film class before, and I've liked it a lot more than anything else. I suppose it's because of the practical application of it all. I love watching a film and getting that "Ohhhhhhhh" moment. Then again, I am more obsessed with film more than anything else.
