    ...and very very little experience.

I went on Craigslist to just browse around because I was bored, and a NEET, but I think the fact that I was a NEET is what made it so boring.

I was browsing through the job section and I remembered that I can do website stuff, and that my web design skills are actually pretty OK. So I checked up off intermediate knowledge of HTML/CSS, but then it said I had to be a Javascript expert...oh fuck.

    I don't know that shit.

Oh well, I figure I know an OK amount of the jQuery library for animating shit, and I'll piece things together. So I applied and then I got an interview in literally 1 week. He scheduled the interview for the end of the month, so I crammed like a son of a bitch. I learned Javascript in a month. I think I studied around 15-16 hours a day, non-stop. I learned Javascript, a bit of Angular.js, and touched up my HTML/CSS knowledge.

    I was ready.

I went into the interview, expecting to go through the 7 circles of hell, but instead, he asks me to write a simple form validator in jQuery.

Anyway, I got the job, I just started, and I'm making > $45k because I know how to validate forms.

    BOOYA bitch.

I am currently still doing this. This is kinda new, but I may have someone else joining me as a film guy. I might have to leave a bit later because I realized I rushed this, A LOT.

My favorite lyrics recently have been extremely simple. The original song is by Lilly Allen, but the remix is by ODESZA, and it's just

    How did I get here
It's sad but it's true how society says life is already over
There's nothing to do and nothing to say

It's just a powerful few lyrics showing how almost totally powerless we are in modern society today. It's beautiful.

Well I'm only saved up around $8,000 so far so I'm a little short but I'm hoping the kickstarter for the webseries will cover that. I had $13, 000, but I bought a better camera and a few lenses so I am back down a bunch. As far as saving up, I sold my car, and I work every weekend making anywhere from $200 to $1500 a weekend, and this work is for my dad and completely under the table so I don't get taxed for it.

That's not the point. The point is NOT TO SPEND MONEY. If you have a goal or ambition that you are striving for you save every penny you can. Friends want to go see a movie? Limit them to 1 movie a month, or limit yourself to 1 dinner out a month. Cut your cable off, cut your home phone off. Ditching the car and the insurance saved me $5,000 immediately, plus I'm saving more for the insurance every month. This is maybe dumb, but I also cut off my health insurance because I want to leave by mid-2015 so I figured that I'll gamble on staying healthy till then. That saved me another $300 a month. You don't buy soda, you don't buy fun stuff, you just keep your goal ahead of you and you'll get there.

I thought this would be a good time to also share what camera equipment I'll be bringing.

    Camera and lens attachments:

Canon 70D as my main camera
4 Batteries for the Canon 70D
Canon Battery grip for extended filming/shooting
    Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 Lens
    Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 Lens
Canon 18-135mm f/3.5 standard kit Lens
Canon 50mm f/1.8 high aperture Lens
Hoya 77mm Clear Pro 1 Protection

    Mic and stuff:

Rode VideoMic GO On-Camera Shotgun Microphone + Dead Cat Kit
Slik Sprint Pro II Tripod (SUPER AWESOME light tripod)
Joby DSLR gorillapod (tiny tripod that wraps around shit)

    Misc:

GoPro Hero Black Edition for that gritty filming
    64GB Samsung MicroSD
    (2) 128GB PNY SDXC cards
Voltaic 18watt solar charging station for when I'm out in the middle of nowhere and need to get shit charged

I honestly probably need a telephoto lens for shooting pics from far away or filming, but I can't decided on one, and also they're all fuckall expensive.

Thank guys!, and yes SnipeYa. I think I'm going to design a website around WordPress, and that should be fun haha

EDIT: I am actually thinking of a domain name, and I think I settled on www.terrathumb.com. Terra is for earth and thumb is for sticking your thumb out and hitchhiking. I think it's a solid domain

I'm going to go around the world. I'm saving $16,000 to do it. I'm only going to try and use $10K though, and even make some money doing it. I will document my experiences and start a youtube about hitchhiking around the planet. Yeah I know it's dangerous, you're not going to convince me of something I don't already know. I already planned the route out and I'm ready to depart in early 2015. I already have the camera, backpack, tent, and other supplies ready to go, and also $7,000/$16,000 ready to go. I will be making this trip, and it's going to be amazing.

I will be hitchhiking down through mexico and flying out of Buenos Aires, Argentina into South Africa to hitchhike up from there.

The total I will spend of flights will be $3, 000, and even that I hope to make on the road by helping farmers or putting my bar-tending license into practice.

Experience? I have already hitchhiked across Australia before on $50. I can also speak Spanish, Russian, Polish, French, and English so that gives me a bit of versatility as far as communication goes.

Just wanted to share with you guys!
