  1. ...and very very little experience. I went on Craigslist to just browse around because I was bored, and a NEET, but I think the fact that I was a NEET is what made it so boring. I was browsing through the job section and I remembered that I can do website stuff, and that my web design skills are actually pretty OK. So I checked up off intermediate knowledge of HTML/CSS, but then it said I had to be a Javascript expert...oh fuck. I don't know that shit. Oh well, I figure I know an OK amount of the jQuery library for animating shit, and I'll piece things together. So I applied and then I got an interview in literally 1 week. He scheduled the interview for the end of the month, so I crammed like a son of a bitch. I learned Javascript in a month. I think I studied around 15-16 hours a day, non-stop. I learned Javascript, a bit of Angular.js, and touched up my HTML/CSS knowledge. I was ready. I went into the interview, expecting to go through the 7 circles of hell, but instead, he asks me to write a simple form validator in jQuery. Anyway, I got the job, I just started, and I'm making > $45k because I know how to validate forms. BOOYA bitch.
  2. I'm going to go around the world. I'm saving $16,000 to do it. I'm only going to try and use $10K though, and even make some money doing it. I will document my experiences and start a youtube about hitchhiking around the planet. Yeah I know it's dangerous, you're not going to convince me of something I don't already know. I already planned the route out and I'm ready to depart in early 2015. I already have the camera, backpack, tent, and other supplies ready to go, and also $7,000/$16,000 ready to go. I will be making this trip, and it's going to be amazing. I will be hitchhiking down through mexico and flying out of Buenos Aires, Argentina into South Africa to hitchhike up from there. The total I will spend of flights will be $3, 000, and even that I hope to make on the road by helping farmers or putting my bar-tending license into practice. Experience? I have already hitchhiked across Australia before on $50. I can also speak Spanish, Russian, Polish, French, and English so that gives me a bit of versatility as far as communication goes. Just wanted to share with you guys!
  3. Not my newest since I'm on 10.10 Yosemite now
  4. Install Gentoo. Nah, Skype is ok, but it may be because I don't really use it that often. If fucks up sometimes, and it's some of the clunkiest software that I've ever used, but it does what I need it to.
  5. That's true, but you have to be flexible. For example, front end web devs have to understand UX/UI to an extant as well as HTML/CSS and a mastery of Javascript. Then there's the monsters... full stack developers.
  6. Eh, I'm wary of people that say HTML/CSS 100%. I'm sure you've learned enough to make a site with pretty basic layout/etc. I've been doing CSS/HTML for at least 4 years now, and I'm learning shit every day. Honestly CSS is getting really really powerful. Animations, transforms, media queries, typography, etc. It's VAST. You only need to know maybe 25% of CSS to make an OK layout, but that's just the beginning. HTML is hardly a mark up language these days. Web component support, canvas, etc. It's getting incredibly complicated. I'll argue with anyone that says web languages are for amateurs. They really aren't, and I'm of the belief that many employers want more than just a "language" out of you. They want a designer, someone that knows a bit of server side, front end developer, etc.
  7. I meant that as a joke from here:
  8. Eh, I think it's pretty awesome and flexible. I never really minded it. Javascript is so hot right now
  9. Honestly Javascript is the way to go to get anything truly amazing done on the web. Sorrynotsorry. It really is pretty dope ass shit.
  10. Everyone under the Pretty Lights label is free to downloal: http://prettylightsmusic.com/plm/ Gramatik The Age of Reason is FTD http://bundles.bittorrent.com/bundles/297ce78805c7a159790c1561db5e1c86f4a4bf9b7428210c862f8e1461f24ad3/ Big Gigantic's Albums are FTD http://biggigantic.net/music1/ I have a lot more if ya kids want
  11. I'm trying to add the django framework to my list, but it's actually not proving to be that fun, more boring than anything else.
  12. I think it should be paid. Sweden has done this for decades now, other countries are quickly catching on. Then again, this is the USA, and although we call ourselves a developed country, we are behind in everything.
  13. Why the fuck are you guys defending a country that shouldn't even fucking be there? Holy shit! Seriously? Generally when countries take over other countries or dissolve them, that's that, but in Israel's case we try to reform it THOUSANDS of years after someone else dissolved it. WTF
  14. Sennheiser HD 558 Headphones The Design/Construction The construction for these things is great. You expect plastic to be, well, plastic...but these headphones feel solid in your hands, not flimsy at all. At only 9oz these things are also light, and you forget that they're on your head in about 30 minutes. The ear pads and padding are made out of Velour, a step up from the HD 518, and they feel the same as the HD 598. It's very soft, and it feels like memory foam. The cable is EXTREMELY long, at 10ft. You can basically walk across the whole room with these headphones still plugged in...or you know, scratch your balls, or your foot, and they won't be unplugged. You don't have to worry about standing up and dragging your laptop/ipod/phone off the table with you. BUT This would be nice if it wasn't for the fact that YOU CANNOT REPLACE THE CABLE EASILY. Yeah, Sennheiser is great, but they didn't really think this one through. The cable is their own twist and lock 2.5mm cable that you have to buy separately. I won't because I'm a cheap bastard. Ultimately, this is what you get when you have focus on SOUND, not jam packed of extra useless features. Still, as you can see, the design is great, and they look fucking sexy. The mesh is a nice touch, and I like that Sennheiser is written on the top in big bold letters, strictly for vain reasons. The Sound I like a headphone that is neutral and that I can modify the sound how I please with an amp or an equalizer. With most headphones, besides studio monitors, you have some sort of weird built in equalizer-like sound. Either it's too damn bass or the treble is insane, or the mids are killed off. These headphones are neutral. BASS HEADS GTFO. If you're a basehead you're gonna have to use an amp, as simple as that. But, also lucky for you, these headphones are a pleasure to amp because it's so easy, and it just does not distort the sound what so ever. Don't be mistake, the bass is there, and oh god does it sound lovely. Why it's great is that you can still hear the strings, guitar, voice, and everything else behind the bass. You can hear every string pluck, and every time the bow touches the violin. Jazz music sounds inFUCKINGcredible, and electronica like Bonobo sounds absolutely heavenly. The soundstage is amazing, it's like you're right there in the middle of a concert or orchestra, and you even know where the guitarist is standing. It's great. Final thoughts on sound: -Neutral even sound, with great poppy bass. -Large soundstage -Mids are amazing -Highs are amazing -Lows are perfect, just the right amount Cons -Cable is too long, and is a fucking BITCH to replace/exchange. (-1.0) -The sound leaks like a motherfucker, but you bought open headphones, so what did you expect? This is for enjoying in your room by yourself, or at a 50%-60% at a place with people. NOT FOR STUDY HALLS OR LIBRARIES. Arbitrary rating out of 10: 9/10
  15. John Butler usually sings sad shit, that was nice. He needs to cut his smelly dreads and beard. Fuckin' hippy
  16. What headphones do you have? I'm asking this because I'm looking to buy new over the ear within the $100-$150 range, and I'm leaning very strongly on the Sennheiser HD 558's with their awesome soundstage and fairly neutral sound. I was gonna go with the ATH-M50S, but the bass is there, and I'm not a bass head. Well, I am, but I like a more neutral sound that plays bass where it's meant to be played. As for my other phones. 1 x Klipsch S4A II 1 x Sennheiser IE 60 1 x Sennheiser HD 429 (what I'll be replacing) I have an expensive pair of in-ear because that's what I user for the gym, etc. They're my primary ones. I just need some that I can use to relax at home with.
  17. Since when were you into electronica? We can bond on this @v3nture
  18. Hell yes, if you were a casual member, you were treated like SHIT. Oh, and if you did have a great mod but weren't part of the top 1%, your mod would be buried into the fucking ground through criticism all so the top 1% can stay the top 1%. 1. The attitude on that forum was shit with massive egos and superiority complexes. 2. The power struggle was so painfully obvious and fucking pathetic. 3. There was nothing casual there. It was uptight dicks that jumped on every chance to make you look like an idiot, all for invisible internet points. Oh, and if you were a dick on there, fuck you, fuck you so much. In before tell us how you really feel. Open Carnage and even Mod Halo was done right, that place was a cesspool. Fuck it. I'm glad it died. /rant feels good
  19. Wanted to say that I think theses sound SIGNIFICANTLY better than the ATH-M50's/M50S. ATH-M50 have a little bit of unnecessary bass, and these headphones get it right. I do have cons for this headset: -The cable is too fucking long for portability (10ft). You can't replace it unless you buy the Sennheiser shorter cable. -It is an open headphone, but the leakage is significant. My brother heard my song perfectly from across the room at 75% volume. If the volume is 30%-60% than you can listen to it in a coffee shop. I'll post a review right now.
  20. Just got my Sennheiser HD 558s, so fucking comfy. Velour pads oh god. I can't feel it on my head. So sexy. Neutral sound, no crazy bass, but even sounds good even with dub step because the bass is there where it needs to be.
  21. I have a couple from staff telling to stop flaming, and I have like 2 releases. Also apparently a fighting match with some 13 year old at the time.
  22. Offer something on it, chances are it won't be cheap either way. It's very possible to block a lot of information so maybe you're SOL.
  23. U like dat bass, eh? I understand haha
  24. I have the 1 TB version of this SSD, and it's fantastic! I think the TB version has faster read/write speeds because of its larger cache ramz
