I've been working on programs which randomly generate art, it's a fun way to relax and be creative with code. The results have been interesting so far!

I've named them Lin, Dot, and Fern. Adding more soon.

I took a look at what IPB uses, it is this editor: http://ckeditor.com/

As far as I can tell, it does have these features built-in:

So it should just be a matter of enabling them.

In my opinion it is completely neccesary if we are to reach a point in our technilogical development advanced enough to make animal testing obsolete. Our methods are too primitive to do anything else right now.
  15. NeX liked a post in a topic by Floofies in What it took to Come Out
This is a story about what it took to get me to come out of the closet. If you don't like gay people, dramatic family issues, or long stories, then I recommend you leave the thread.

It was the month of July 2012, around 8 AM, I was breathing excitedly, my heart felt like it was going to leap from my chest. I kept pacing back and forth in my garage with a cell phone to my ear. Talking to me, was my best friend, we had been on the phone an hour earlier. I had just come out to my mother and a few friends, that I was in fact gay. It wasn't that easy though, doing this was vastly harder than I ever anticipated. I had been up all night trying to convince myself not to commit suicide. I talked to a few friends, but I wasn't sure how I was going to make it all better. I had an idea, a flash of inspiration, I would refute every lie I ever told to anyone. I was so sick and tired of telling people I was someone else, I had become chronically depressed, and so I decided to fix it.

The first lie was that I was 23, I had told my best friend of 8 years that I was 23 years old for the entire time I knew him, just because I thought he'd like me more. You would think I'd be truthful to at least my best friend, but I wasn't for a long time. I called him, and said "I'm tired of bullshit". I then told him my real birthday, my real age (At the time I was 18)

(On Opencarnage/Modhalo I told people I was almost 30, and lied about my name, however that was necessary to ward off a group of stalkers, I have since decided to correct that as well.)

The second lie was that I was straight, and even a little bigoted. My finger was almost touching 'Hang Up' on the cell phone, but I quickly raised it back to my ear and said something crazy, "Oh, and I'm pretty sure I'm gay". There was silence, for awhile, I felt maybe I was about to lose my best friend. Then, he told me he was okay with it. It felt amazing, I felt like I could stop lying forever, and be myself. I didn't know what was coming next, but it shocked me.

An hour after talking to my friend on the phone, my mother asked me to sit down, and then proceeded to ask me if I was gay. Now, she hadn't overheard the phone call, and she hadn't seen me with other men, so I was really confused as to how she 'knew'. My response was "I think so, yes". At that point I fully expected her to completely disown me, because her attitude had been horrible with me for months, but I was simply astounded when she said "Ok, I still love you no matter what". Apparently my mother was nothing like my militant Christian father at all, she was accepting and realized that there was more to the world than could be contained in an old holy book.

I'll rewind a bit, to give you some perspective.

Let's go back to January 2012. My father did something horrible, he has beaten my mother almost to the point of breaking her jaw, and now the whole family was paying for it. With a warrant for his arrest, it was only a matter of time. Even though my family was in complete shock, staying in a hotel and barely able to think, I took my SAT after being awake for 2 days. The stress was so bad I developed an eye twitch, and couldn't stop twitching various appendages like my arms and legs. I worked through it, I also had a part time job doing IT subcontracting so I could support the family. After a few days I told my mother I was an Agnostic, mostly because I felt she needed to know my stance on 'praying for dad'. All this time, for over a decade, I had called myself a Christian when in the presence of family. When I talked to my friends, however, I said I was an Agnostic. It wasn't that big of an issue to my mother, being much more liberal than I ever thought she was. It made me happy to let her know what my belief was, as I could then talk to her about it without fear.

A few months later, in around April, my father had flown to a rehabilitation center in Illinois. As far as I knew it was the end of my parent's marriage at that point. Years of stress and insanity had lead to this moment, lie upon lie stacked into an ever swirling torrent of depression and sadness. I thought maybe things would get better, this would be my chance to lift an immeasurable burden from myself. This was it, my father was getting the help he needed, I felt better about life.

A month later on June 2'nd, a day after my birthday, my father killed himself.

The pain and guilt hit me like a concrete tidal wave, I was so wracked that I started laughing hysterically as my whole family cried. The police officer that told us the news was puzzled at my reaction, which made me feel worse about myself. It was the morning of the day after my birthday, and I had just started writing a philosophical book about death the previous day, which added to the laughter. The circumstances of the whole thing were to skewed and twisted, that I couldn't possibly find it within myself to react like a normal human being. Of course I cried later, but only when I was in a dark room by myself, which made sleeping quite hard for awhile.

On top of all of this pain, I was lying constantly. Almost all my life I felt I had to lie to be accepted. My family has always been Christian, reinforced by my militant father. If I had any ideas that he didn't support, I would be punished. I lied about myself because I felt I needed them to keep me safe, but I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't balance all of this with the death of my father, and I became suicidal and depressed. The lies started with my family, and bled out to my friends, and then my close friends, and then everyone I met. I decided there would be no more lies, I would end it all with my death, or stop lying. You already know what my decision was.

All good things come to an end, Halo PC being one of them.

Had some great times playing this game, and made some cool friends, but since the 1.10 update, the game has never fully recovered its numbers, they are still dropping as are the good clean run servers, and the amount of trolls now is at an all time high, Halo has become the "Mos Eisley" of the gaming world. For all these reasons and a few more, halo has nothing to offer me in a game of these days, so its time to call it a day.

My parting gift, I'm giving away my CE key to anyone that wants it. Send me a PM!   I'm still going to be active on the OC

Obviously people take their experiences with them to Mars, and it will be colored to wherever they were born and raised, or were living previously. I think in the long term (definitely not just 4 people, a ton more) culture and religion will definitely play a part. Nationality is only a generic secondary (almost redundant) idea that will only be loosely applied, probably forgotten other than in it's ties to certain other cultural memes. A great read for this is the book Red Mars, by Kim Stanley Robinson. In the book, nationality plays a large part but only because corporations from various nations got involved (a possibility, but only muuuuuch later), while Religion and often nationalistic cultural memes follow closely. IE: People from Japan will celebrate various holidays while people from other countries will not.

Through the grapevine, a lot of people higher up on the network chain than I am are saying that BGP only half-works in large scale setups where routers are gateways for the internet (aka ISPs). I'm sure this is why IPv6 isn't widely implemented, as there's no effective half-way to do a full conversion. Not every consumer's modem, router or NIC can support IPv6 either, so it's a poorly designed protocol that relied on a lot of contributing factors.

    I'll drop this here though.
