  1. Just picked up Hyper Light Drifter on the Steam winter sale after eyeing it for a quick few months. holy shit. Had a large J after a party and booted it up. Completely engrossed in the atmosphere of the game. Without a doubt among the top 5 games I've played this year. Incredible art and aesthetic. Anyone a fan of synthwave, outrun, bit nostalgia, chiptune or ambiguous fantasy should surely pick it up while it's cheap. A+ game.
  2. You know that feeling that washes over you at the end of a night? You're coming down off something, rolling a J whilst your buds chill across from you? Someone's passed out in a chair. You pick up your head for a second and take in the scene - it all feels right.
  3. @myself sometimes...
  4. As much as I agree with Risk about the ridiculous hyperbole and melodrama surrounding the Trump win there is one issue which I think should concern everyone - climate change. I'm worried that the media will continue to focus on the perceived sexism and racism surrounding Trump rather than the implications this has for the USA's commitment to a greener future. As was said earlier in the thread, Trump has the means and vision (for better or worse) to make change through a Republican House and Senate, bolstered by whomever he chooses to replace Scalia. We've repeatedly seen his skepticism and downright denial of climate change in the past (Chinese hoax, opposition to the Paris agreement) and more recently with his vows to appoint Myron Ebell to head the EPA. Trump's opposition to any and all progress towards an environmentally friendly future is no joke. Whether or not you voted for him, this is something that we can all mutually agree is a fundamental existential threat. A lot of the time I refrain from commenting on US affairs. My greencard lapsed some years ago, I no longer live in the US and to be frank I have no plans to go back. That being said, the scale of reversal he will be able to achieve is at best frightening and at worst amongst the greatest threats to global stability in the foreseeable future. It directly affects myself and everyone on this forum. I'm not being flippant or misleading. This is happening, right now. Unless we see a push for immediate positive political change it stops being something our grandchildren have to deal with. We just cannot keep pushing this off and I'm certain nothing will be done without a massive bipartisan outcry. /rant with apologies for the dramatic tone.

  6. Over in the UK we're having an election night party. I've bought some Prosecco for a Clinton win and some scotch for a Trump. My preferred candidate is, of course, Ba'al, the soul eater. I have some goat's blood jello shots in the fridge.
  7. I may or may not have gone as a beautiful woman
  8. University is letting me switch from History of Art to Film! Thank god, by lecturer seems to spend 90% of his time squandering ours. Yes, we're all very impressed that you could pick out a fake Parmigianino. Uhuh. Yup, looked too much like Correggio. No I won't buy your book.
  9. Last night I finally made a move on this girl and I don't recall my chest ever feeling this light before. All we did was lie on a beanbag and listen to Syd Matters until 4 AM, dammit! Seriously though, can't recall what it feels to be really optimistic so I suppose this must be it.
  10. "Scott Pilgrim is dating a Highschooler?" "She's only let out during the day, so I wouldn't really call it dating." "More like... play-time?" "That doesn't sound too good either."
  11. Filthy Frank has a motherfucking mixtape.
  12. Absolutely fabulous here in Languedoc-Rousillon. It doesn't really start to cool down until late September so I have a couple of weeks to work on the tan. Headed down to Narbonne in my bumblebee yellow fiat tomorrow for lunch with friends on the beach. Life is a lot better than it was.
  13. Rocking a 6P at the moment. Absolutely fantastic phone. Runs apps smoothly, little to no bloatware and those that are there (Google apps) are all uninstallable. Camera is extremely high fidelity. Battery can last 2 days with light use (texting, calls, whatsapp etc). Very tough, even without a case. I managed to drop it from the second story of a building whilst drinking on the balcony and all I got were a few (minor, non intrusive) cracks. The fingerprint scanner being placed on the back makes it very ergonomic as opposed to the clumsy tendency of putting it by the home button. Runs emulators very well too, if that's your thing. I'd say definitely go for it. I splurged for one as a birthday gift after moving from a galaxy and haven't looked back.
  14. Seems the closest we'll get to the Halo bible for a time, at least. Beautiful artwork. Features a huge compendium of never before seen events and locations from the lore. The dreadnought at Janjur Qom, the betrayal of Alpha-9, depictions of the little known interplanetary war; it's all in there. Gonna order my copy after seeing this. Snags from the book. Can't wait to give it a good read!
  15. It's not difficult for me, but I'm really used to it. It's how I live now. In terms of possessions, everything I really need can fit into a checked bag and carry on. I like that, It keeps me grounded (no pun intended).
  16. Constantly moved all of my life. Various reasons, including but not limited to parental divorce, 2008 crash and schooling. I hope not to really settle anywhere for a good part of my 20s. I like moving constantly. I have friends everywhere. I'm hoping after uni I'll work for an NGO for a while and go wherever they want me, picking up and going every few months. That's the dream, yo.
  17. sentiment is my impediment
  18. oh my god why didn't I get an Irish passport when it was easy why
  19. You now have a moral obligation to stop 9/11. Good luck! Serious though: Probably take copies of some yet to be published great works with me. I then take credit for said great work and am hailed as the greatest writer that ever lived.
  20. VAP WAV
  21. you know I wasn't actively planning to cry today but what can a guy do
  22. When I'm at home we tend to eat together, but very casually. In the summers we sit outside and chat, and in the winters next to a fire. It's a crucial thing for families to do, in my opinion.
  23. ya gotta get a little AESTHETIC sometimes
