Decided to have some fun with the bsp intersection function. I run the function 4 million times (takes about a minute) in a spherical pattern and then render each intersection on the map in real-time. Makes an interesting looking light map

That'll make for some sharp lightmaps. =p

Electron is a new renderer built on top of 002s Proton rebuilder. It has been written from scratch in C++ and runs on both Mac and Windows. The Windows version is compiled natively in Visual Studio and not some crappy attempt to port Objective-C. Various sub-projects are being build using Electron as a base, including:

    Electron Map Editor for Mac
    Electron Map Editor for Windows
Electron MD Plugin (replaces Halos renderer which doesn't work on Intel Integrated Graphics)

    for now, here's a teaser...

Apple likes to control everything related their product - e.g. how they write their own OpenGL drivers rather than letting Nvidia or AMD do it. OpenGL is faster on Windows than it is on Mac
It's similar to the dock connector except its more like... "we have both ports on our iPhone but the micro-usb has been disabled in a config file so that you can only use our proprietary port"

Yeah, see Xinput for another one. H2 Vista only accepts Xinput controllers (xbox controllers), so if you want to use a controller using DirectInput (every other PC controller except xbox) you have to get some funky program to spit out a custom xinput.dll.

You would probably need to replace the entire DirectX renderer with Electron. Electron currently doesn't do animations so that's probably not good - you might as well just use Electron as a Halo client

The HaloMD renderer disables the SBSP (can be done with just modifying a bit in memory that tells Halo whether or not to render the SBSP). Then, disable rendering of scenery.

The Windows/OS X editors don't replace anything, but they look pretty good.

My favorite part about the water is the water reflections (which I'm assuming are dynamic?).

From 5 million versions of SwordEdit to several versions of Archon and now Electron. But it's built on top of 002's work this time so I'm expecting something really good this time, Samuco. Don't let us down.

I dunno, can the game even render shaders on a velociraptor? What's the flying humvee situation look like? Plausible at least?
Besides Tucker, you never even played Zelda how can I take your opinion on video games seriously?

Haha, I think this is too unstable to bundle with HAC2, which so far does a really good job of improving Halo while being basically invisible.
What we need is something like MD's extensions, which can be enabled or disabled.

So I started watching Unreal Engine 4 demos and had to pick my jaw up from the floor before I could go download the source code and compile it for myself

Not sure exactly how much of this one is prerendered

     This one's for Tucker

It's actually really easy! Registering is free. The source code (private and hidden, but available after registering) is easy to download, and compiles without errors on my machine (though it does take a long while to compile!)

    Here's the demo level:

I haven't added any code of my own yet, but generating a project was easy. I'll keep on poking for the time being. It might be fun to see what Halo assets look like in this engine =D

I'm not really sure why you'd want to download this seeing as it's just the demo, but just to prove how easy it is to compile this engine: http://www.mediafire.com/download/xckj9ww1a7ha3i3/WindowsNoEditor.7z
