This can be fixed on newer SAPPS by using the prespawn event instead of the spawn event

Pings under 800 or so won't cause warpiness, since it's just the delay it takes for your packets to get there. If you're consistently sending the same amount of packets (no packet loss I mean), then you'll still move consistently, rather than warp. You're still going to be at a huge disadvantage, because you may not be able to have enough time to react to someone suddenly gunning you down.
Last week, Samuco got it to the point where Halo rarely warped, and on ~370ms ping, as he was hosting it from Australia and I'm from the US. Warpiness then was just caused by instant force effects like grenades and rockets, or by increasing stuff like jump height on client-side, as seen in the video below.

It required tweaking the netcode, making it incompatible with vanilla Halo.

Hey, I made a new plugin called Halo+ for HaloMD and it's pretty neat. Here's what it does:
Fixes Intel Integrated Graphics Shaders Reduces Halos CPU usage from 100% to 1-3% when it's in the background Adds an extra resolution option corresponding to your screen size (so now you can go above 1440p) Fixes a bug in El Capitan where Halo would crash when in window mode Enables 16x ansiotropical filtering Increases the maximum bsp poly limit Increases the number of objects that can be visible at once Beta download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1pkucyfx5crdhhn/Halo%2B.mdplugin.zip?dl=0

That's very good, actually. Water shaders, glass shaders, and everything seems to work, now, and after all this time.

The 9x FSAA is pretty awesome when shaders work. Now HaloMD users can play Phoenix 3 without crashing into trees and also get lens flares every time someone does anything.

The options in the settings menu seems to be broken, now. I click on any one of them and they all reset to the minimum value, or they say, <missing string>.

I'm going to reupload Proton with the scnr plugin.

Also, using Proton and this plugin, I deleted a reflexive that caused sidewinder's rcon to break when saved by Sparkedit. Special thanks to sehe for telling me what reflexive to delete. Sparkedit's map editing functionality is broken. :/

They just chase the player closest to them. It's pretty basic ai at the moment (run to nearest player), but can be coded to do lots of things. Here's an updated ai that has learned how to shoot:

I figure I should post a general update on what happened to this plugin.

There are quite a few things I didn't bother putting in the thread. It's missing a tonne of tables and basically all information about Halo code I had to modify. I suspect the Halo code has a #define kMaxPlayers 16 or something statement, which is why increasing the limit is a pain   I got to the point on this plugin where 17 players could join a game and could all move around etc. There are still a few glitches (some packets are broken, I've overridden stuff not related to netcode and it has screwed with the radar etc). I never tried to get 18 players into the game so for all I know it's possible. Uni summer break ended and the plugin has been on hold ever since  . I've recently been building a new Halo client using Electron which has the ability to join games, chat, move around, shoot, show enemy players etc. I've decoded a lot of the net code, which has taught me a lot of things (and shown me some of the packets which need modification). I imagine having a lightweight client which is capable of supporting 32 players is useful for programming the SAPP side of things. However, I still have college, a thesis and post graduate college applications to worry about, so it's still on hold.

TL;DR - I have a Halo MD client/server that supports 17 players but I'm busy and don't have time at the moment to finish it
