Steam Controller

Tiddy-bits:

“I don’t like the shoulder buttons.”

You’re holding it wrong! Ugh! Claw grip, people! Bumper Jumper Master Race.

Holding it that way just feels uncomfortable for me.

Probably because of that vagina you have between your legs in lieu of a penis

Speaking of that curve, my SO didn’t really grow up with much in the way of videogames, and when we would play Left 4 Dead together on 360 controllers, she always had a terrible time trying to aim and got really frustrated with constantly oversteering her gun past a wave of zombies. It took her about ten minutes with the Steam Controller to start nailing headshots, without even using the gyro. So believe me when I say that most of the learning curve is just unlearning traditional controllers. If a total shooter virgin can play well and have fun with this, there is no reason you can’t as well. Go buy one.

Honestly that sold it for me.

My SO loves to watch story-driven games, so I lugged the beast tower out into the living room, bought a 360 PC controller, and started a playthrough of Witcher 3.

The bummer is, that game.....has a lot of untapped key potential, like menu navigation and shortcuts that I utilized on the keyboard like hell.  Being able to use buttonpress modifiers would be AMAZING, and the fact that it's an easy to learn controller means I would probably be comfortable with it within a few hours of playing with it.

Great review man, seriously. Was fun and entertaining while being completely informative!
