Blacklight: Retribution is by far my favorite f2p FPS game out here. It was created by Zombie Studios but sadly was neglected updates for a ridiculously long time. It was later ported over to the PS4 and a Russian PC version which quickly out updated the PC US and EU versions, leaving them to rot. The PS4 and Russian versions run on different engine coding than the US and EU, making update porting a pain.

 

This soon resulted in Zombie Studios going bankrupt and having to give up BLR to Hardsuit Labs. HSL is created by some of the former creators of BLR from Zombie Studios, and focus directly on BLR only.

 

BLR on PC will be back up-to-date and continuing to get content. You can find more information as well as HSL's roadmap for BLR here...

Blech. This is just another "lets loadout and p2w" bullshit free to play dickfest.

 

I played the ever loving hell out of it for a while, but it's infuriating when you just get these ridiculously high level people toting the nastiest loadouts known to man, with cheap ass gear like autoturrets...bleh. It's everything wrong with CoD, plus some extra shit sprinkled on like turd garnishes

You can counter the P2W babies easily. Their credit card doesn't make them any less shit at the game.

It isn't so much the fact there is a mech for the endgame carnage, but it's really the fact that whoever possesses it is pretty much god-mode. You may as well just let them spawn camp you at that point.

I don't really see it was p2w unless your bad at the game and don't know how to deal with things. I do way better with the standard rifle than someone else's custom rifle. The equipment is the only trouble but you have HRV for a reason. There's no reason it should surprise you and kill you.

Again, I don't see a p2w problem. Pay for early access isn't an issue if you just get used to the game and get good.

Their ping readings are broken for the server browser, but I haven't encountered any kind of lag since I've played for the past year. Then again, you were probably playing when it was active and could be that Zombie Studios never upgraded their servers. Just like they never gave us a content update. Since it's been in HSL's care it's been running perfectly fine.

Well, when someone drops a mech you know theres one in play. If it's your team or the enemy you can check with HRV. You can deal with it instantly and fairly easily if you have the points for a rocket, or if you're a lightweight with an LMG you can just circle them. I'd like to say the BLR has Halo spawns which are great compared to CoD so you should be able to easily catch them off guard. Spawn camping is none existent.

So the PC version is finally updated. It's looking sexy as all hell. They still have a lot of things planned for it so I'm looking forward to it.
