Weird Shit

Since yesterday Google Chrome has been freezing up on a few random websites. When this is happening, my CPU heats up to 38-44C. I normally browse at around 25-30C depending on the time of day.

Any ideas?

Tiddy-bits:

what's the CPU usage while this is happening?  Is it just Chrome that does it, or all browsers?  Or just webkit based browsers?

I'll have to wait for it to happen again to be able to tell you what the CPU usage is. This is only happening in Chrome, Firefox is working fine. :\

Yeah, chrome sometimes fucks up with hardware acceleration.

Try:

Show advance settings

Scroll down to the end.

Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.

When this doesn't work try:

GPU compositing on all pages to disable

Disable accelerated 2D canvas to enable
Disable accelerated CSS animations to enable
GPU Accelerated SVG Filters to disable
Disable hardware-accelerated video decode to enable
and "relaunch now" at bottom of the window

You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.

I sometimes will find random extensions added to chrome that I did not add myself.  Some software will very sneakily add stuff like that, they often cause problems.

Including Chrome. Thanks for the updaters I didn't ask for, constantly disable only to find re-enabled. Thanks for adding stuff to my tray without asking.
