I need a place to ask random Halo questions without cluttering up the board, so-

Is there any editor that has managed to at least begin naming reference swap locations? I'm trying to pull off some hack that might be able to fix Valkrieg's banshees-which-never-go-away issue. I need to find the on_vehicle_death effect.

Edit: Wait, that won't do the trick. Is there an on_rider_death effect?
Double edit: Found the equivalent in the bipd's coll tag. Don't mind me.

Tiddy-bits:

Is there an on_rider_death effect?

Not that I'm aware of, however there is a player death effect.

Oddly, this is familiar to you... as if from an old dream.

Emerald prompted me to look at my old Nivaeus WIP mod, and I had a thought -

How would one go about adding a ladder to scale one of those cliffs? Is that generally part of the BSP, or can it be added as scenery of some kind?

Scenery item, or edit the BSP to have a ladder plane or planes.

E: fix your ground bitmap (remove blue ice).

pretty sure that when you apply textures in 3ds, you have to specify which textures you want to be ladders with a symbol. i forget what symbol it was, but im sure you can find it somewhere. your best bet would be to create a new custom scenery that you can copy and paste throughout your map.

You could try air/grav lifts although I've heard they're not as reliable in CE. I'm not sure how they work, I just know it's been done.

A damage effect sends you flying into the air.

Is it still possible to control in which direction that damage effect launches the player? The only times I've ever seen the lift done was in Coagulation and Foundation, both of which involved walls. Not sure if they're necessary though.
